With more than two decades of experience in real estate marketing, Joe Averett has built a reputation as one of Utah’s most seasoned and creative marketing professionals. As the founder of Got MoJoe, Joe combines deep industry knowledge with innovative strategy to help agents, brokerages, and developments stand out in competitive markets.
Over the course of his career, Joe has contributed to the marketing of tens of thousands of properties across all price points—from entry-level homes to luxury estates—and has helped hundreds of real estate professionals elevate their personal brands through strategic, high-impact marketing.
Joe’s foundation in graphic design and pre-press printing gives him a unique edge, blending creative vision with technical precision. He is also the former publisher and art director of Collections Magazine, a premier luxury real estate publication for Summit Sotheby’s International Realty, where he produced 19 issues showcasing Utah’s most exceptional properties.
About Joe
Originally from Arizona, Joe moved to Utah to study Visual Arts and Graphic Design at both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. While in school, he immersed himself in the design and print industry, working with several pre-press and printing firms in downtown Salt Lake City—experience that would later shape his marketing expertise.
Joe’s real estate career began with Prudential Utah Real Estate, where he quickly rose through the ranks of the marketing department. He later became Marketing Director for Lance May & Associates, the top new construction real estate team along the Wasatch Front, before returning to Prudential as Marketing Director.
In that role, Joe oversaw marketing and advertising for 500+ agents across 16 offices, helping drive the company to become Utah’s #1 real estate brokerage with more than $3.2 billion in annual sales volume.
In 2010, Joe joined Summit Sotheby’s International Realty as Marketing Director, overseeing marketing strategy across Park City, Salt Lake City, and St. George. During his tenure, the company experienced significant growth, expanding to $1.8 billion in annual sales volume.
Joe led major initiatives including:
A complete redesign of the company’s website into a lifestyle-driven search platform
Development of the company’s video marketing channel
Implementation of agent marketing tools and intranet systems
Creation of innovative digital campaigns and market video reports
He also served as publisher and art director of Collections Magazine, distributing over 125,000 copies per issue and elevating the brand’s luxury presence statewide.
Today
Since 2019, Joe has operated independently through Got MoJoe, partnering with real estate agents, brokerages, and developers to deliver custom marketing strategies, branding, and creative direction. His approach is hands-on, results-driven, and rooted in a deep understanding of both the real estate industry and the evolving marketing landscape.
